Snow Day!

Even as a grown up, every time it snows...my hope is that it will be enough for a snow day. My wish came true last night around 10pm when I got the email that SCHOOL WAS CLOSED! As I was jumping up and down doing a silly dance, Joe was giving me the evil eye. He still had to go to work. Snow days are measly part of what makes being a teacher so wonderful! :)

So far, my morning has consisted of a whole lot of NOTHING! After I woke up, I watched Joe shovel out his car & a nice path for the older people to walk on. Then I made a cup of coffee and watched the news. Once Joe left for work, I immediately put on Desperate Housewives. (I have never seen it and just recently have been watching from Season 1...I'm addicted.) Oh, and I ordered a new hat and scarf online, too. For the rest of the day, I plan to clean the kitchen and my bathroom and play a bit of "Little Big Planet." I got the game as a love present and want to be better at it than Joe...so I have to practice! :p

Snow days are still loved and appreciated...even in my mid-twenties!

Happy Snow Day!!!

Life is Good =)

This week was great! I had awesome days at school with my really cool first graders. Having that break was so beneficial....I came back refreshed & so did my students. At school, we also ended the week with an assembly for the kids -- reminding them of our 3 school rules (Be Responsible, Be Respectful, Be Ready). In this assembly, we had a teacher on teacher competition. I was on team "Beezer's Bruisers." We did an obstacle relay race and played dodgeball....HOW FUN!! It was great to see the teachers and students laughing and enjoying themselves. Boy, are my legs sore from running! :) Joe & I had a great week, too. As I told you in my last post, we started WW again. I lost 3 lbs in 6 days! And he lost 5 lbs! It's nice to see results -- it will keep us motivated and inspired.

Today we are heading out in the snow to get both of our cars an oil change. We are going to walk along Main Street and reminisce about the good old college days. It should be fun!

Now, I'm off to enjoy my coffee...have a great day!

2011 off to a Great Start!

I survived my first day back to 1st grade! I was a little worried last night as I was laying in bed...watching the clock turn 11pm, 12am, 1am, & 2am. I guess I finally dozed off around 2...and my alarm went off at 5. After chugging 2 cups of coffee, I was awake and went on my merry way to school.

My students were such doll babies today! I greeted them at the classroom door and it was so nice to see all of their toothless smiles as they turned the corner awaiting my greeting. They all seemed to have a nice holiday and break...we shared and talked a little before we got down to business. :) My kids were very well behaved and I hope this is a good sign that the rest of the school year will be great!!

On another note, I came home to a cleaned up house and dinner in the crock-pot. My hubby is wonderful :) We joined Weight Watchers online last night, so we planned out our meals for today. Since he cooked dinner, that means I have dish duty. I guess it will be my turn to cook tomorrow night!!

Until next time...

Last Day of Winter Break

Well, today is my last day of winter break before I go back to reality. It has been such a wonderful, relaxing 10 days! I will definitely miss staying in my PJs & drinking several cups of coffee doing absolutely nothing until early afternoon. I will miss spending all day with my husband, Joe (who took off all week). I will miss spending quality time with my parents & brother.

But tomorrow I will get to see my 20 babies and hear all about their adventures while on vacation. Returning from break will be bittersweet. I've missed my students but have loved and enjoyed a break from them. I will let you know how my 1st day back to 1st grade goes...

Now I'm off to enjoy my last day of relaxation for awhile!
